ACKNOLEDGEMENTS

The signer appears before the notary, verifies their identity, and formally declares they willingly signed the document. The signer does not need to sign the document in the notary's physical presence, provided they acknowledge it is their signature. 

OATHES

A solemn, verbal pledge made to the notary regarding the truthfulness of a statement or promise.

JURAT

sed for sworn statements like affidavits. The signer must appear before the notary, present ID, and sign the document while the notary administers an oath or affirmation that the contents are true. 

PROTEST

A formal statement verifying that a negotiable instrument (such as a check or promissory note) was presented for payment and was refused.
